Dr. Jorge I. Rivas DVM, ECMPA, CCRP

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Rivas earned his DVM degree in 1996 from Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV). His journey continued with a specialized rotating program in surgery and medicine at UCV, where he obtained the prestigious Small Animal Surgery and Medicine Specialist (ECMPA) degree in 2000. Dr. Rivas then served as a dedicated faculty member in the post-graduate program in small animal surgery at UCV for nearly six years.

In 2011, Dr. Rivas successfully completed the ECFVG certification program, granting him the license to practice veterinary medicine in the United States. Subsequently, he embarked on a one-year surgical internship at Mid-Atlantic Animal Specialty Hospital. Dr. Rivas returned to MASH in 2018, where he has been a valuable member of the surgical team. His passion for enhancing the well-being of animals led him to pursue certification as a Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner through the University of
Tennessee’s CCRP program in 2022. Dr. Rivas brings his expertise to areas such as wound management, anesthesia, and pain management, making him an indispensable asset to our practice.
